Book a prenatal consult to prepare yourself for what to expect in your breastfeeding journey.
A prenatal consult will prepare expectant parents for breastfeeding by teaching breastfeeding basics (positions, latching, common struggles), providing a breast anatomy assessment, reviewing colostrum collection techniques, and addressing any anxieties you may have. Pump sizing and fittings can be discussed, but are best assessed postnatally.
Book an in-home* postpartum consultation to receive support on breastfeeding, bottle feeding and/or pumping. Whether you’re struggling with milk supply, latching issues, or navigating bottle feeding, I'll provide guidance and support to help you feel more confident and secure in your feeding journey.
During this visit, I will take a detailed history of your pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding experience, observe your breastfeeding technique and baby's latch, and assess your baby's sucking and swallowing skills. I'll provide advice and support where necessary and address any concerns you may have. We'll then work together to develop a plan to help your baby feed more successfully and increase your confidence with breastfeeding.
This 90-minute in-home postpartum visit includes everything provided in the 60-minute visit, in addition to weighing your baby and breast pump sizing and fitting (if applicable).
During this 60-minute follow-up, I will reassess your breastfeeding technique, positions and baby's latch and provide support/advice on any questions you have about feeding your baby. This visit is available in-person or by phone.
When your baby is sitting unassisted, is showing signs of interest in solid foods, and is six months old, they should be ready to start solids. If the idea of introducing solids to your baby seems overwhelming or scary, I am here to support you.
Whether you want to start with purees, try baby-led feeding or do a combination of both, I can provide hands-on support to help you introduce solid foods to your baby in a safe and fun way. Together, we will review feeding techniques, feeding tools and supplies, which foods to try first, how to introduce allergens, and more.
